Masonry Heaters are currently exempt from Federal Government Regulations. Tulikivi and the Masonry Heater Association have been working closely with the Environmental Protection Agency and State Air Quality Agencies for years to demonstrate the clean burning characteristics of masonry heaters.
Tulikivi Whirl Box
In 2009, Tulikivi incorporated its patented whirlbox technology in all fireplace models. The whirl box is truly a remarkable innovation in which the combustion air that is introduced in the firebox mixes completely with the combustion gases. The Fine Particle Forum — formed as part of the FINE technology program at TEKES (Finnish Funding Agency for Technology and Innovation) — presented the 2006 Fine Particle Achievement of the Year award to Tulikivi.
