2023–2032 WOOD AND PELLET HEATER INVESTMENT TAX CREDIT (25C)
Warmstone Fireplaces and Designs features numerous masonry wood heaters and wood stoves which qualify for the 25C Federal Tax Credit. The credit allows a 30% tax credit on the purchase and installation of high-efficiency wood burning items recognized by the EPA for HHV Efficiency Values of 75% or greater.
Tax Credit only for existing homes. Does not extend to new construction.
Consumers buying qualifying masonry heaters and wood stoves will be able to claim a 30% tax credit that is based on the full cost of the wood stove, including purchase AND installation.
The Tax Credit is capped at $2,000 annually with no lifetime limit. Tax Credit is only for existing homes. Does not extend to new construction.
The 30% tax credit is valid from January 1, 2023 through December 31, 2032.
Qualifying heaters and stoves must meet at least a 75% HHV efficiency value.
You will need your purchase receipt detailing cost of product and installation.
Retain manufacturer certificate stating that the masonry heater or stove qualifies for the credit and is at least 75 percent efficient HHV.
High-efficiency biomass heating products qualify for a tax credit under Section 25(C) of the Internal Revenue Code (“IRC” or “tax code”). This 30 percent tax credit—capped at $2,000 — is available for masonry heaters and stoves installed on or after January 1, 2023.
Installation Date: To be eligible for the tax credit, install a qualifying Masonry Heater or Stove on or after January 1, 2023. The purchase must be claimed for the tax return year in which the installation is complete.
Either way, you’re eligible for the tax credit.

Keep your purchase receipt(s), including the cost of the Masonry heater or stove and installation. You should also have a copy of the Manufacturer’s Certification Statement stating it qualifies for the credit and is at least 75% efficient (HHV).
Both purchase and installation costs (e.g., chimney and related materials, onsite labor) can be included in your total cost.
